Teenage Care

Why would an adolescent need to see a gynecologist?

Puberty brings many changes to young women and their bodies. Dr. Gueye helps young women to understand these changes and how to care for themselves, as well as providing treatment for any conditions and advice on sexual health. Teenage girls are recommended by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists to begin seeing a gynecologist between the ages of 13 and 15. While pap tests are not usually required until a woman is 21 years old, if a teenager is sexually active, Dr. Gueye recommends making your first appointment to begin a relationship with an expert in female conditions.
